Brasilia

The Orthopedic and Specialty Medicine Hospital (HOME) is a private hospital located in Brasilia, founded in 2009 and reference in Brazil in the treatment of diseases of the neuro-musculoskeletal system. The hospital has a highly specialized medical team, with 130 beds, a modern imaging center, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), five operating rooms, emergency services, clinical laboratory and a leading center for sports medicine, exercise physiology, physical therapy and rehabilitation. General surgery and bariatric, vascular surgery, maxillofacial plastic surgery and others, are part of the hospital’s activities.

The sports medicine department is responsible for evaluating and conducting pre-participation examinations of football players and other high-performance sports. The rehabilitation programme and injury prevention is held in conjunction with doctors and physiotherapists following the step-by-step “FIFA 11+” programme, as well as the dissemination and implementation of the “FIFA 11 for Health” programme in football clubs and schools in the country.

In the 2014 FIFA World Cup, HOME was the therapy centre of reference for the local organising committee (LOC) and for athletes and officials of FIFA, in Brasilia. Soon after the World Cup, HOME created IPEHome (Institute for Research and Education), which will be the great scientific academic project of continuing education in conjunction with the Fellowship Programme in Orthopedic specialties – hip, knee and shoulder and sports physiotherapy. In 2015, HOME celebrated the new medical building with new surgical centre, offering cardiovascular surgery, ICU, hemodynamics, a new imaging center and a helipad.

In the social sphere, since 2012 the hospital has been working with the University Centre of Brasilia (UniCEUB) to promote multidisciplinary curative and preventive care to athletes of the Federal District. In this period about 15,000 cases were handled.

As one of our missions is to provide exceptional care for high-performance athletes, the hospital supports various sporting events and Brazilian and international delegations visiting Brasilia.
