“FIFA 11 for Health” has expanded internationally, having begun in Africa and been subsequently rolled out in Latin America, Oceania and Southern Asia, the programme now arrived for the first time in Central Asia. The first pilot course of “FIFA 11 for Health”, a football-based health education programme, has been successfully completed in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. 32 teachers from 16 primary schools from Bishkek took part of the 5-day pilot course.

Mr. Jeysing Muthiah, the “FIFA 11 for Health” regional project coordinator for Asia thanked the representatives from the FFKR, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic for supporting this valuable project.

After the completion of the pilot phase in the 16 selected schools, FIFA will assess the results with the FFKR and the various government departments, in order to discuss the way forward.
